Fantastic 3/4

Year 3-4

Term 1 Week 2 2021 - Friday 11th February

What have we been up to?

The 3/4 teachers would like to welcome back all the students and parents to a new school year. We have all had a lovely start to the first two weeks. It’s great to see so many happy faces at school!

Students have been working on a series of activities to jump start our school year, while focusing on our school and classroom culture. We have centred our learning around the 7 Habits and how we can become leaders at school and at home. Each class has created their classroom mission statement as well as individually creating their Personal W.I.G ( Widely Important Goal) for Term 1. These activities have had the students participating in classroom discussions, working and collaborating as a team (in pairs and small groups), as well as working well independently. We can’t wait to see what else they will achieve as the year progresses.

The 3/4 team would like to welcome Miss Nassim, who is an experienced teacher joining us at Le Page P.S. this year. We would also like to welcome our student teacher Miss. Jackson who has been a wonderful help in 3/4A. They have enjoyed getting to know all of the students across our 3/4 classes and look forward to working with our students and families throughout the year.

Just a few reminders for you all:

  • Please don’t forget to bring in your hats and water bottles as we have had and will be having more hot days.
  • If you have not bought any school supplies yet, please make sure you purchase them through our school supplier, KAKA Kids School Supplies.
  • Can we please ask each student to bring in an appropriate novel to school by Monday next week. We will be using these in class to improve our reading skills. The library will be opening soon! Stay tuned.
  • If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email your child's classroom teacher.

What is coming up?

The students will be focusing on the place value concept over the next couple of weeks where the students will be learning about odd and even numbers, adding and subtracting odd as well as even numbers,

Science/ Inquiry

Lastly, during Science/Inquiry the students will be exploring Australian culture, Australia’s vast natural environments and landmarks as well as investigate Australia’s states, territories and capital cities.
