WELCOME TO 2022 - message from the Co-chairs

We wanted to send warm wishes to our new families who have joined St James this year and our outgoing families who left at the end of 2021. You never really leave St James, and you are always part of our community.

We would also like to introduce ourselves and our families as we both (Connie Sands and Virginia Pullman) will be sharing the role of STJPA Co-chairs.

Virginia Pullman  - The Pullman Family joined St James last year in 2021.  Tony and Virginia have 3 children, with Lachie in Year 3 and twin girls (Jade and Skye) who are in Year 2. 

Connie Sands - The Sands Family has now been with St James over 9 years and are forever grateful for finding our amazing school. Blair and Connie have 3 children, their eldest daughter is now at Star of the Sea in Year 8 and they also have twins (Nicholas and Sienna) who are in Year 3 this year. 

We have many strong points at St James but one of our particularly strong areas, is our sense of community.

We may not be the biggest school around, but we pride ourselves on creating a sense of belonging for our parents and our children.  We look after each other and we love to socialise.

Due to COVID and our inability to hold our usual gatherings and events over the last couple of years, some of building our community and our connection has been difficult especially for the new parents who have joined our school in the last few years.  We now have the opportunity to build it again this year.  We encourage you to attend as many of these events as you can this year. We also encourage you to help organising events. None of these events can happen unless parents offer a small amount of their time to help.  It’s a great way to get to know lots of other parents and from other year levels as well.

Our Welcome Disco is Friday the 25th of February 5.30pm-8.30pm, and the theme this year is “Colour Party”.  Dress in your favourite colour and it’s a great way for new families to meet other families and all the kids absolutely love it.

If you can make it along, we ask a favour that you please buy your tickets early. Unfortunately, if you leave it to the last minute, it makes it very hard for the event organisers to schedule catering, drinks, and to even sometimes to decide whether to run the event if the numbers are low and we wouldn’t want to miss out!
