Deputy Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

The school year has truly commenced.  We have had ‘Meet the Teacher’ and this week the students took part in Week B Specialist Activities.  For some classes this week was their first Performing Arts or Italian lesson for the year.  Our students in Foundation can look forward to participating in these classes as soon as they commence full time, commencing Week 6A  - Monday 28th February - Friday 4th March.

Level Newsletters

Each of the Collaborative Communities have now prepared a level newsletter, providing an overview of what will be taught, timetables and school events.  These newsletters will be available via the St James Parent Portal Friday afternoon.

COVID-19 Safety at School

At St James we have put a number of strategies in place to reduce the risk of transmission.  No one strategy is 100% effective.

Here are just some of the ways we are doing to keep our Students, School community and Staff safe and well.

In light of current restrictions and inline with our School COVID Safety we ask that you respect and follow the following guidelines.

Access the Step by Step PDF here

2022 - ICT and Digital Technology Acceptable Use Agreement and Photograph / Video / Social Media Consent

A friendly reminder that the above mentioned agreements have been shared with the parent community via Operoo.  If you have yet to read them and provide consent or decline, can we kindly ask that you action this by tomorrow evening, (Friday 18th February). Without written consent, students will not be able to use Ipads / Chromebooks to support their learning programs.

If you have chosen to not provide consent for Photography / Video / Social Media, please note that every attempt will be made to ensure that your child’s image will not be shared on the school website, newsletter or social media platforms.  If you would like to discuss this further prior to making a decision, please contact the school directly.

Thank you if you have already accepted / declined the consent forms shared.

Social Distancing

Thank you to all parents and carers who are helping the community to stay safe and healthy by keeping 1.5m apart at drop-off and pick-up times.

Although physical distancing will not apply to students in class, it does still apply to staff and parents. Therefore we ask that you respect our requests to minimise contact and continue with social distancing during drop off and pick ups, adults will also need to adhere to wearing masks when in public places including drop off and pick up.
