A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

School Prayer

This week I would like to share our school prayer with you, especially for the new families to our school. I encourage you to read it with your children.

St Joseph’s is a family united as one

May it be a place of both learning and fun

May our faith be shown by the way we care

May we always turn to you in prayer

While we strive to do our best each day

May we be like you in all we do and say

St Joseph, pray for us

St Mary of the Cross, pray for us

Building Community Between Home and School

We had two well attended meetings last week for the School Advisory Council and PT & F. Thank you to the parents and staff members for giving up your valuable time. We are truly lucky to have such supportive parents and staff at St Joey's! At each of these meetings we revisited the roles of the committees and how they contribute to the spirit of our school.

The School Advisory Council assists in the following areas:

  1. Development of the Catholic Identity, Ethos and Mission of the school;
  2. The pastoral care strategies in the school community;
  3. Promotion of the school in the local community;
  4. Preparation and monitoring of the annual budget;
  5. Ensuring compliance of school committees eg PT & F;
  6. Development of local strategic plans eg for buildings & maintenance;
  7. Facilitating school community responses to Government funding;
  8. The preparation and publication to the parish and school community of an Annual School Advisory Report.
  9. Parent engagement in student learning
  10. The provision of opportunities for parents for social, community and parish interaction and for parents to form supportive networks.

Thank you to our School Advisory Council Members for 2022

President: David Lee  Committee Members: Kate Dillon, Jason Allan, Vicki Purcell, Robyn Wilson, Wendy Rheinberger, Kate Thompson, Fr Vince & Pauline Long

Aims of the PT & F Association

  • The Association recognises and values the role that parents/carers play in the education of their children and aims to strengthen the partnership between family, school, parish and the wider community.
  • Providing opportunities for parents to gain insights into the life of the school, current developments in education and Catholic education in particular.
  • Reaching out to all associated with the school to build a friendly and welcoming community which seeks to involve all its members.
  • Promoting the principles of Catholic Education and fostering a distinctive Catholic environment in the school.
  • Providing a means for parents through the school to affiliate with a Diocesan Parent Association and thus the Council of Catholic School Parents.
  • Raising funds to provide resources and opportunities for enriching the learning environment and well being of all students at the school.
  • Providing support for school maintenance programs.

Thank you to our PT & F  members for 2022
