New Art work in the Library
Having classes in our library again this year and sharing this space does have its perks and one being that beautiful art work can be hung for all to see.
At the end of last year our amazing Mrs Atkinson received this stunning art work by Rachel Crouch who has a student here at LNPS. Mrs Atkinson has been so kind in letting us hang this up on the wall above the office window for all students to enjoy when they enter our library this year!
Scholastic Book Club Orders
Issue 1 has just arrived and will be handed out to classes within the next few days! You can also go on the Scholastic website to shop.
Please make your purchase / pay for your Book Club order online through the Scholastic website (link below). The school is not accepting cash.

2021 Library Changes
Please note which collections are in each building this year while Mellor classes occupy the Tirkandi building:
Tirkandi Library

Morphett Primary Library
- Fiction books
- Series books (year 3+)
- Language books
- Picture books for older readers (orange stickers)
- Graphic novels (yellow stickers)
Premier's Reading Challenge
The Premier's Reading Challenge is starting soon. Forms will be handed out to class this week. So start recording the PRC books your reading and happy reading to everyone!!
Borrowing
Reception - Can borrow 4 books
Years 1, 2, 3, 4 - Can borrow 8 books
Years 5, 6, 7 - Can borrow 10 books
Parents – Can borrow up to 10 books
Books can be kept for a maximum of 2 weeks. All that is required for borrowing is a library bag (for Reception, Year 1/2) and no overdue books. Students are encouraged to manage their own library bag and to borrow regularly.
Overdue, Lost or Damaged Books
The school library policy for overdue, lost or damaged books has been updated. A library book that has been overdue / lost for 2 weeks or more or damaged, there will now be a fee of $15; however if the book is found or returned you will be reimbursed the full amount. Students will be unable to borrow until the book(s) are returned or the payment is made.
The money goes towards replacing that book so your child and other students can have access to reading books they love!

Returns
Students can either place books they want to return in their classroom library box, directly into the green returns box in the Tirkandi library or the clear tubs at the borrowing station in the Morphett Primary Library. I kindly ask that students return books to the building they borrowed it from as this will significantly help to reduce movement between the two buildings.
All Book will need to be returned by end of week 7 this term.

Friday - Not open
I will be located in Tirkandi Library so please do not hesitate to visit!
