Welcome to 2022

We extend a warm welcome to our entire LNPS community as we embark on the 2022 school year. As a school which focusses on developing positive relationships between families and staff, we know that we can work together to provide opportunities for your child/ren to enjoy growth and success in their learning.

Even though we have had a complex start to the school year, we have successfully adapted to the staggered start. It has been exciting to see how our students and staff have been flexible and resilient. This has enabled high quality teaching and learning to occur and ensure a great start to the year.

As you would understand we have had to put a number of events  on hold or plan alternative ways of holding them that occur at the beginning of the year. These includes:

  • Building Connections Community Night
  • Learning Conferences
  • Reception Strong Beginnings Parent Sessions

We are still planning to have these events in some form and are currently working through alternative options. Further information will be distributed in the near future. At this point all school assemblies are still on hold.

We are also very pleased to welcome 52 Reception children and their families to our school, along with numerous new students and families across different year levels. Students have joined us from throughout Australia, from within our state and from across Adelaide. We feel confident that you too will soon feel like a part of this great school community.

We currently have 436 enrolled students and have 16 classes. We have again invested in additional salaries to support student learning from our school budget. These are in the area of extension, intervention and support programs.

At LNPS we have a program for the first two weeks of school called ‘Getting Off To A Great Start’. This program has an emphasis on the 5 Keys to Success from Program Achieve; which are organisation, resilience, confidence, persistence and getting along, and our school values.

The focus is on establishing a positive learning culture with consistent expectations within the classroom, and creating safe conditions for rigorous learning. Effective learning comes when effective working relationships between students and teachers and between the students in the class are established. This is an intensive program run in the first few weeks of the year and some aspects continue during the second week of Term 1.

Staffing News

We would like to welcome Jack Bayly into a classroom teaching role. Jack will be taking Year 4/5 Science and F10 on Friday. You may remember that Jack was a SSO at LNPS in 2021.

Who Can I Talk To?

Throughout schooling, students will experience a range of experiences, hopefully many more positive than negative. Parents and students sometimes need a staff member to talk to who can support and assist them in their daily life at school and often at home. At LNPS we have a great group of staff who can assist you and your child/ren.

Your child's classroom teacher is the first point of contact for you and please feel free to contact them if you have any concerns or questions you wish to raise. Leadership are also available to support as needed. We are here to help!

MEET THE LNPS STAFF

Morning Drop Off and School Access

We have noticed that a number of students are arriving at school prior to the 8:30am when Yard Duty begins.  For the safety of all students we ask that parents make arrangements so that students are not left unsupervised in the school yard.

The school provides a before school care service to ensure that all students are supervised appropriately before 8:30am. Please contact the OSHC on 84435308 to arrange enrolment.

If there is an occasion when students arrive close to 8:30am we ask that they wait on the steps outside the Front Office.

Just a reminder that only Reception parents are allowed on site for drop off. All Year 1-6 students need to be dropped at the gates. If you need any support with drop off or pick up please let us know.

If you need a meeting with any staff member please contact them directly or the Front Office to make a time.

We are really looking forward to the 2022 school year and working in partnership with families, students and staff to collectively shape the next stage of our school’s development.
