Connected Learning

To end the year in ConnecTED Learning, students have ventured on their final inquiry, the 'Reason for the Season', asking, what truly is the meaning of Christmas? Students worked collaboratively across classes the explore the inquiry question and put all of their learning into action for their final project.
In the culmination of learning and development of skills Year 7s completed the following:
- Contact MDPS Principal Mr Danny Malone requesting to interview students
- Arranging meeting times with Grange Residents to interview their Christmas experiences
- Gathering in their groups over the weekend to film presentations
- Using the GREEN SCREEN to superimpose backgrounds to their filming
- Screening T-Shirts and merchandise for a rap video
- Interviewing teachers, family, and friends about their Christmas experience
- Composing a Contemporary Christmas Narrative
- Using a variety of technology tools to create engaging and interesting presentations
In addition, students participated in a Christmas production of 'The First Christmas'. Twenty students worked across the week to act out the play with Miss Fonte's Drama skills and Mr Noonan's directorial skills to present their play to the cohort. Detailed, homemade costumes, the angel (Gak)Gabriel, memorised lines, solo singing and chorus work are some of the incredible features of this production.
Overall, the final week of Year Seven in TED has been full of excitement, engagement and LEARNING. A big thank you to all students for their efforts in making the close of 2017 memorable.
