Christmas Appeal

Over the past 5 weeks students, staff and their families have been kindly donating Christmas food, drinks and toys for our 2017 St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.

It is a true representation of our Christian mission to support the less fortunate. Vinnies does wonderful work in the Riverina all year long and remind us that Christmas can be a very sad time for those who are alone,    un-well, less fortunate and those who are struggling.

It this season of gifting presents, it’s so important to take time to reflect on the deeper meaning of what it means to give, to care and share with others.

This little poem is called the gift of giving and I ask you to reflect on the opportunities we have, to make a difference in the lives of others.

After weeks of collecting gifts and food donations every morning, we were very excited to showcase our gifts at our recent assembly. Your contributions will make all the difference for those who hunger and thirst, you have shown mercy and delivered peace to many this Christmas. We are continually reminded of the generosity and support of Mater Dei families. You have given the gift of hope to many this Christmas.

I feel most proud of our collective efforts this year and am delighted to hand over these gifts from our community, along with $330 which is the proceeds of our Christmas Tree Raffle from last week. We know these donations and funds will go to the most needy families this Christmas.

We would like to thank St Vincent de Paul Wagga, and the work of the many hard working volunteers, because of you, we know these gifts will go to the most needy families in our community.
