Christmas Liturgy

Last Wednesday night we gathered as a community for our Christmas Liturgy and Awards Evening. We had time to reflect on the blessings that we have received in 2017. We looked at the birth of Christ from the viewpoint of God's Christmas Tree. The presents that lie at the foot of our tree, remind us of the gifts God has given to us, he sent his son Jesus to us, offering to us the gift of his presence in the world and a chance to do things differently. Just as the birth of Jesus is recognised as a symbol of hope, love and joy, so too can our Christmas Tree. Congratulations to the Ellis family who won our beautifully decorated Christmas Tree in the College raffle. All proceeds of the raffle, $330, were donated to the Vinnies Christmas Hamper Appeal.

ACYF (Australian Catholic Youth Festival)

“Last Wednesday a group of 23 students accompanied by Mrs Gill, Ms Thomson and Ms Fonte travelled to Sydney to attend the Australian Catholic Youth Festival. It was an extremely eye opening and engaging experience as we were able to connect with parts of the faith that aren’t usually available such as Lectio Divina in which we could more fully experience God through scripture. We heard peoples’ stories of hardship and where they see joy in their lives. We also listened to talks from renowned Catholics on modern issues in society such as slavery, sexuality and dating. The pilgrimage to the Domain on the final day helped to unite us all in faith, putting everything into perspective as a Catholic adherent in an increasingly secular world and how we can overcome adversity through this faith. Making it clear that we as young people can make a positive change in the Church and society.”

Anna Ryan: Year 12

Almost 20 000 young Catholics deepened and shared their faith, over three days of prayer, music and connection. I enjoy you to browse and enjoy out the numerous videos that the Catholic Schools Office created on their Facebook page.

End of School Year

We come in gratitude for the year that has gone by. We thank God for all the wonderful events we have celebrated, we remember the times of challenge that we may have gone through and ask for continued blessings and graces during our holiday. May God’s graces and blessings always strengthen us and encourage us.

God our Father,

You have given us the gift of each other

as we come together as a school community.

We offer our gratitude for the joy and the memories that this school

year has brought us and pray for rest and rejuvenation to continue

to share your love and peace in a new year.

We pray for those who are leaving our school community this year

We ask these prayers through our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

that Your light continues to guide their journey.
