Kitchen and Garden and Sustainability News

A big thank you to Ben, Fleur, Camille and all of our kitchen and garden volunteers that have allowed the kitchen and garden program to continue to be a success. We look forward to 2023 and continuing to revamp our program and engage all of our students in our kitchen and garden. We farewell Ben Shaw as our Garden Specialist and thank him for filling a big hole during term4 and we look forward to welcoming Clancey McKenzie in 2023.

Chicken Duty

Our chickens have a great open area that they are free to roam during the holidays. This will allow our coop to be fully cleaned but also give our parent chicken helpers a great rest.

Food Scrap Friday

A big thank you to all of our parent volunteers and kitchen and garden team who coordinated Food Scrap Friday. Throughout the year we have collected a massive 301.7kg of food scrap. That is approximately the size of 2 baby elephants. More importantly that saves 583.2kgs of CO2 emissions and saving the equivalent of 52.10 days of electricity consumption in one household.
