SJB Swimming Trials 

The St Joseph's swimming trials will be held on MONDAY 14 FEBRUARY 2022 at Corrimal Public pool.  The trial is for swimmers who can competently swim 50m or more without stopping or touching the bottom of the pool.  Unfortunately, there will be no 25m events due to time restraints set by the council. 

While the day is about participation and enjoyment for the sport, the main purpose of the trial is to select a group of students to represent St Joseph’s at the Diocesan Swimming Carnival. For this reason, it is important that all races are completed in the half day allocation to St Joseph's by the pool. Therefore this carnival is for;

• Years 3 to Year 6 students who can competently swim 50 metres or more without stopping or touching the bottom of the pool. NOTE:  If your child/ren will NOT be participating in the swimming trial, please advise the school office via email at info@sjbdow.catholic.edu.au as soon as possible.
• Year 2 students turning 8 in 2022 and who can competently swim 50 metres or more without stopping or touching the bottom of the pool.   If your child/ren wish to participate in this trial and is turning 8 in 2022 and can competently swim 50 metres, please email the school office and we will add their name to the event which will enable you to complete the parent online consent.

All other students in Years 3 to 6 will remain at school. 

Please refer to the Compass event for more information. We are calling on our wonderful parent volunteers who may be able to assist on the day. Please complete the questions in the compass event if you are available. All volunteers must be fully vaccinated.
