Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the 2022 school year. I hope you enjoyed the January holiday period with your children. As they returned to school this week, they certainly looked refreshed and happy, had grown, and were ready for learning.

I thank parents and carers for ensuring your children were well dressed in their uniforms and for encouraging them to be proud of being a St Joseph's student.

The staff and I warmly welcome each one of our students and look forward to a year of improvement in learning and growth in faith.  It is our hope that each child flourishes at St Joseph's with the guidance and support of parents and teachers, working together for them. Every student matters and every student counts at St Joseph’s.

I encourage all students to take up opportunities to grow in their learning and faith, to increase their sense of belonging, help others feel they belong, and to be actively and passionately engaged in all of school life.

Students, parents, and staff together, have a purpose and much to contribute at St Joseph’s. We are blessed by the presence of every person.

Kindergarten 2022

Next week, we welcome our Kindergarten students for their first full day of school. It is an exciting time for these families and also for our staff. Kindergarten students will begin school on Tuesday 8 February 2022. An information letter has been sent to Kindergarten parents tomorrow.

This week, Kindergarten students are excitedly arriving for their Best Start Assessment, a one-hour visit with their teachers, and a small group of other students. Along with their transition and play sessions late last year, the children seem very confident about school and eager to get started.

We pray for these students as they begin their schooling in Catholic education.

Term 1 Parent and Teacher Meet and Greets

Parents are welcome to meet with class teachers in Year 1-6 during Weeks 4/5. Kindergarten Meet and Greets will be held in Week 6. (Please note that this is Week 2) Bookings details will be provided soon.

Student Pastoral Care and Wellbeing

St Joseph's has many systems and practices in place to support the pastoral care and wellbeing of our students. Mr. Miguel Aguilera, Assistant Principal, will oversee all of these to ensure they align and meet the needs of students.

If you have any pastoral or wellbeing concerns for your child please don't hesitate to contact the class teacher in the first instance and then Mr. Aguilera.

I pray that together we will all be willing to find God each day, in this place, and in the people of St Joseph’s.

For all things at St Joseph's, give thanks!
