Year 3 Reports

In Week 2, 3R visited the Life Education van to participate in the program, 'Mind Your Medicine.' The students learnt about the importance of medicine, correct dosages, the different types of medicines, expiry dates for medicines, uses of medicines and how medicines work.

In the second part of the visit, the students role played and discussed bullying at school. They learnt about being: passive, aggressive and confident in playground and classroom situations. These were valuable, hands on lessons where the students were fully engaged and enjoyed the learning.

These are a few presentations that were created at home by the students in 3C for their end of term STEAM project for The Arts.

Hoop Time Recounts

On Thursday the Threes and Fours went to MSAC to play basketball. My team was John, Paddy, Rory, me, Amity, Bonnie, and Isabella. We only lost one match out of 5 the  team we lost to was Saint Patricks. They played really well as a team that's why they won. When we got possession of the ball we passed the ball down the court and got a goal. The very first game we played, we were playing sacred heart. We smashed them by 18 points. It really got our hopes up we ended up winning the next match to. We won by one point but we could have lost by one point as well though because the buzzer went one second after the guy on the other team shot and scored. The day was amazing and I would like to give Mr Toban a huge thanks for organising the day.

On Thursday the 7th of September it was the year 3-4 Hoop Time. My team was the legends and our coach was Daz (Will's step dad). The team was: Me, Thomas, Will, Shubi, Milly, Sadie, Loukas and John-Paul. Our first match was against Saint Joan of Arc's. The scores were 28 to us and 0 to them. Our second game was against Galilee Lakers and we drew 2-2. After the game I switched teams because the Lakers needed a boy sub. The first game I did with the Lakers was versing St Joan Of Arc’s (again for me). The Lakers team was: Me, Matthew, Lachlan, Daniel, Violet, Adele, Claudia and Mietta. We won our last match, drawn once and won the rest with my other team. Thanks for listening!

My heart was racing as I stepped inside MSAC as our basketball team was about to face off against other schools.

Firstly we went to find our seat for the rest of the day. Soon the year four boys basketball team played. They played on the court closest to us. As well as cheering them on we started to practice on the sideline.

Unfortunately  they lost, but fortunate for us our first match was starting and we were versing Sacred Heart. John started the match well scoring 3 goals and setting up 4 goals.

We Won, woohoo! We were thrilled  as we won our first game. Then we went on to win the next then the next until we lost to Saint Patrick's. We won the next then it was the elimination final, if we won this we would go to the finals. It was a tough game but we didn't win. When we got back to our seats, we saw the overall grand final, 3 seconds left and the score was 8-9, the buzzer went but they scored a point on the buzzer (buzzer beater!).

Overall it was an amazing day.
