Around The Primary

Dear Parents

This week the Year 6 students have lead the Primary community in prayer through their Holy Week reflections.  Our Year 6 leaders really took their roles to heart, making their words, actions, experiences and songs carry so much meaning.

Please take the time to view the photos to reflect on Palm Sunday, The Last Supper and Good Friday.  The students worked very hard to create a moving and sensitive dramatisation of the journey of Jesus.

Thank you to Ms Allen, Miss Nish, Miss Graves and Mrs Haydon for preparing the students so well.

I wish all families a joyful Easter and Happy Holidays.  I look forward to seeking everyone again when I return from Long Service Leave on Monday 27 May.

Kind regards,

Antoinette De Pinto

Holy Week Concert

On Monday evening the Wanju Voices, Primary Singers and Chapel Choir participated in a musical journey alongside Secondary students to reflect on the events of Holy Week.

Congratulations to all involved in this special event.

Palm Sunday

This Sunday is Palm Sunday 14 March, the Primary Singers will be leading the singing at the 8:00am Palm Sunday Mass at St Joseph’s, Subiaco.  Thanks to Mrs Haydon for organising this opportunity for our students.  Everyone is welcome!

Parent-Teacher Meetings

During the past week, parents have had the chance to catch up with their child’s class teacher and discuss individual student progress in the year so far.  This is viewed as an important opportunity which well supports the education partnership that we believe to be a vital component to student success.

Many thanks to our teaching staff for making themselves available for these interviews over the course of the week and for accommodating different family needs.

Animal Adaptations

As part of Biological Science, the Year 5’s have been busy conducting experiments to learn about different animal adaptations.

The students had a variety of equipment to imitate different bird beaks and they investigated which type of beak was best adapted or suited to obtain certain food types.

It was a great opportunity for students to work collaboratively and to share their findings.
