STEM Report

Why cant you trust molecules?

Because they make up everything!

(A little joke for our Grade 3 students who have been studying the 3 States of Matter this term).

It has been a busy start to the year and it's hard to believe that we are almost at the end of Term 1. Students have made a positive start with their return to classroom learning this term and have all enjoyed the opportunity to dive head first into their respective topics. Students have demonstrated some impressive skills so far, with our senior 5/6 students focussed on developing higher order inquiry questions to drive personal learning. Grade 3/4 students have worked on their prediction skills using experience and observations to provide reasoning. While Grade 1/2 students have used their senses to identify similarities and differences when sorting objects and materials

Our Lego Mindstorm Robots have been in full swing this term with some of our Grade 5 students applying their coding skills to help navigate their way through  mathematical and measurement style challenges. It has been great learning experience for all involved, especially for me. Great work!

The recess STEM club has also had a great response this term with students participating in different challenges using the Kinex Building kits. A reminder that the STEM club is open to all students, every Friday at recess (2nd Break) in the Room 23.

Check out the photos below to see some of our students in action.
