Junior School Report

Junior School News

Term 1 has been a busy term and students are currently completing set CATS (Common Assessment Tasks). Interim reports will be made available through Compass and we encourage all parents and carers to read the report with your child when they are published on March 23. We look forward to seeing many of you attend the Parent Teacher Interviews on Tuesday 30th March. If you experience difficulties accessing your child’s report when they are published, please contact Mrs. Tammy Baines on 9466 0900, otherwise students can log in to their Compass portal and bring up the report themselves.

Junior Interschool Sport / Fair Go Sports Athletics Carnival

Many Junior teams have recently represented Reservoir High School in interschool sporting competitions throughout Term 1 including many students swimming in the District Swimming competition recently. Congratulations to all students involved and those moving on to the next level. The next few weeks will see students participating in Interschool Volleyball and we wish the teams the best of success.

Congratulations to all Junior Students who participated in our Fair Go Sports Athletics Carnival on Friday 12th March. It was fantastic to see so many students dressing up in house colours or multiple colours and supporting the cause of inclusiveness for all. Well done to all students who competed to the best of their ability or simply cheered and encouraged their peers. Another fantastic Fair Go Sports Day celebrated by the whole school community.

Year 7 Peer Support

All Year 7’s have participated in our Peer Support Program during Health classes in Term 1. The students have been very fortunate to have a very committed group of Year 10 Peer Support Leaders assist them with positive transition experiences and relationship building activities with each other. The Year 7’s really enjoyed the opportunity to be mentored by our Yr 10’s and the Junior school would like to thank all of these Yr 10 Peer Support Leaders for their fantastic efforts and leadership to our Year 7 students.

Year 7 BBQ

On behalf of the Junior School, many thanks to all families and staff who attended our Year 7 BBQ evening on Thursday 11th March. It was terrific to have everyone together and celebrate the first seven weeks of high school onsite with each other and for families to meet our fantastic staff. Well done to Alexia Coulloupas who reflected on her Year 7 journey so far.

Year 8 Health Immersion Day

All Year 8 students participated in the Term 1 Health Immersion Day on Friday 26th Feb. The day started with a fantastic play and questions session presented by Class Act Theatre Company. The play was titled, ‘Show Some Respect’ and covered a range of topics from Peer Pressure to Sexual Harassment. All students were very engaged in the performance and asked insightful questions during the Q&A session. In the afternoon students participated in Team Building Activities in the Gym.

Lunchtime Clubs

All students are reminded that the Lunchtime Clubs program has been up and running for a month now and all students have the opportunity to participate in them. The schedule is located on the Junior School Notice board in F Block and on Compass. See the Yr 7 and 8 TEAMS page for the program as well.
