School Council
President's Report
We kicked-off out first School Council for 2021 with a tour of the new Beehive building. Wow! It is seriously fantastic, and we can all feel proud that we have a space that has been built with an eye on learning practices of today and tomorrow.
We welcomed 6 new council members: Xuemei Lui, Gabrielle Elliot, Anton Wolmarans, Swati Joglekar, Priya Wilson & Leigh Morrison.
The council welcomed back returning members: Glenn Anderson, Cat Atkinson, Kerri Fuller, Kelly Toghill, Julia Shea, Mark Kent, Pam Wright and Sue Kelly.
As a newly formed council, our first task was to elect office bearers
- President – Kerri Fuller
- Vice President – Kelly Toghill
- Treasurer – Anton Wolmarans

Our focus areas for next 30 days
- School council training activities
- Kicking off the subcommittees for Finance, OSHC, Grounds and Building, Education and The Fair.
- Forecasting potential projects to focus on in 2021
- Finalising the landscaping works around the Beehive building
- Preparing for the upcoming school review commencing March 9
We’re excited about
- Serving and supporting the IPS community through our work in the school council
- Friday night’s welcome picnic
- The new environmentally friendly lights that have been installed across the school
- The upcoming repair works on the sewerage pipes and the windows in the red brick building on Waterdale Road
Success stories and shout outs
- What a school community! We reflected on the past 12 months and how hard everyone (parents, teachers, students & staff) worked to adapt to a changing world.
- The savvy financial management of Kelly Toghill and Mark Kent on the Beehive capital works means that we may be able to greenlight some other projects to enhance the school.
