Our Road Safety incursion

The Be Safe, Stay Safe incursion was a 40 min road safety session aimed at Foundation and Grade 1 classes.

It was delivered by Maroondah Council staff to teach and practice -

*Being aware of our street environment and move safely around vehicles.

*Identify safe places to cross and types of crossings.

*Good skills to walk safely with an adult.

LOTE news

These four students below were chosen as our first students to meet online with Lilyvale yesterday. They introduced themselves in Japanese and played a name game with the Lilyvale students. Meet Hiroka, Koko, Makoto and Marina.

The Tomodachi Project

This week four grade six students begun our Tomodachi Project with students at our Sister School; Lilyvale, in Japan. 'Tomodachi' means friend in Japanese. The students will meet weekly online over a 4 week period to get to know each other and share information about themselves and their schools and hobbies. We hope that students will get to know each other and begin a life long friendship. 

Our first session focused on getting to know each other. Kalinda students had prepared a Japanese introduction and the Lilyvale students presented in English. We then took turns having a go at spelling each other's names, which was tricky for the Lilyvale students. 

All of the students enjoyed the challenge of using their Japanese in the meetings and we look forward to getting to know our friends at Lilyvale. 

ART News

Before school and some recess and lunchtimes, these people volunteer their time to help Mrs Shaw put the chairs down, unpack the rack, return work to tubs, prepare and put out materials…ALL READY for your class to walk in and start your Art lesson.
