Let me tell you a bit about Kalinda...

My favourite time of year has rolled around quicker than usual, we are now conducting tours 3 times a week at Kalinda for prospective families. Last year with-all-that-happened-in-the-year-that-shall-not-be-named, most families were unable to do a tour of our school and so this year, all local schools have agreed to open our doors earlier than usual to ensure that families have as much opportunity to explore the wonderful schools in our area. When we finish a tour, families always thank us for our time but I always feel obliged to thank them, for allowing me to talk (and talk and talk...) about the school we love so much!

Tours for 2022 have been a wonderful chance to remind us of the many and varied wonderful programs and people at Kalinda - but once again it's the community and 'vibe' at Kalinda that wins. When I walk around the school with visitors, students of all ages stop to ask me how my day is going, they tell me the achievement they are most proud of that day, they show me their work or give me a giggle with their jokes. The other day when I was showing a prospective parent around the school I was even (very exuberantly) shown evidence of the newest gap in someone's front teeth! New families are greeted with a smile and hello and it's all those positive interactions that demonstrate what we can't put into words - that very special Kalinda 'vibe'!

My bucket was well and truly filled this week when 3DT chose Kalinda Tours as their persuasive topic for interactive writing. What a stunning job they have done! Thank you 3DT, you have summed it up better than I could have!
