Sports Update

Well done to the year 7 & 8's on a successful Swimming Carnival!

A MASSIVE congratulations to the Bindana sub school for taking home the trophy and coming in first place. Myamba were a close runners up, with Kurunda taking out third and Allinga in fourth. Great work by all the swimmers that participated on the day, and everyone else that came along wearing their house colors with pride and supporting their friends in the pool. Thank you to all our staff that assisted yesterday and ensured the day ran smoothly for all those who came along.

Well done also goes to the year 9, 10, 11 & 12's on their fantastic Swimming Carnival!

While the weather could have been a tad warmer, this didn’t stop over 500 students attending. It was great to once again see many students wearing their sub school colours with pride and also the large amount of year 12’s dressing up in this year’s theme ‘Movies & TV Shows’

The cooler conditions seemed to deter our swimmers from the main events today but our Splash & Dash and novelty races were a hit with the students. It was also really impressive to see the huge amount of students getting involved outside of the pool with poolside comps, including:

  • Fashions Parade hosted by our chief of Communications and Motivation, Mr Wilsmore. Everyone who entered went to a great effort but couldn’t beat the Top Gun lads.
  • Our sub school dance off for first dibs on the water slide, well done to the year 12’s for nailing the nutbush.
  • An extra special mention to Declann Aiton and Mrs. Higgins who went head to head again in a Lip Sync Battle with Declann winning in emphatic fashion claiming back to back titles.

The big news was of course the swimming results, with another big result this week seeing Allinga take out the much coveted senior trophy.

Intermediate Sports Results

It was a massive day for EMC Sports!

EMC was the only school in the district that fielded a team for every sport for both Boys & Girls sports, well done to all the year 9 & 10 students for wanting to get involved and representing the College.

EMC was represented by the following teams:

  • Boys Volleyball (2 Teams)
  • Girls Volleyball
  • Boys Baseball
  • Girls Softball
  • Boys Tennis
  • Girls Tennis
  • Boys Cricket
  • Girls Cricket

Of the 10 teams that went out we also had some great results with both our

Boys & Girls Cricket teams and our Girls Softball winning and going through to the SMR Finals.

Awesome effort by all those three teams who were undefeated all day.

Well done to all our other teams who by all reports competed well.

Congratulations to all the students & coaches!
