Year 7 music information sessions:
Year 7 music information sessions will continue to run this week and into week 7.
For those students who have had the information session or previously put in an expression of interest, teachers will begin to give students a trial lesson this week. Students don't need to do anything, the teachers will come to find them! Parents, keep an eye on your email inbox as you will receive an email from the EMC music team once your student has had a trial lesson.
If you would like any more information regarding instrumental music lessons please contact the music department catherine.simmonds@education.vic.gov.au
Congratulations to:
Connor Aiton, Kat Bosanquet, Tayla Cameron, Cayden McClelland, Thea Mills and Gus Morrison were all successful in their auditions for Senior Concert Band last week.
We are looking forward to having them in rehearsals!
Calling for expressions of interest:
We are looking for students who are interested in representing the music program for Open Night. Students will be performing at nominated sites around the College 'busking style'. This is a really great opportunity for students to showcase what they do as well as develop their performance skills. We are looking for soloists, duo's, trios, of any instrument combinations from any year level! If you are interested in performing, see Ms Simmonds to put your name down.
EMC Stage Band Auditions:
The Elisabeth Murdoch College Stage Band is one of a number of ensembles hosted by the college. This audition only band is traditionally made up of student from year 9 through to 12 and regularly performs at internal and external functions.
The stage band will rehearse from 7:45am-8:45am every Wednesday morning and student commitment and engagement is essential to the success of the ensemble.
