PFA News

Connecting Online

Kirsten Brooks, PFA President

It was lovely to see warm, friendly faces online this past week. Our CSRs met last week and our PFA parents met on Tuesday.  What I have learnt from these experiences is that even though Zoom meetings dominate some of our days, catching up quickly online with our community has been wonderful for us.

Guidelines from health professionals remind us to stay distanced, but also to stay connected; and what a lovely feeling it is to share stories and happy events with people we have not seen for a while.

The CSRs will be organising an online event for each cohort soon, and several other gatherings will be arranged online for parents.  Stand by for more information and details.

PFA Meeting

The next PFA meeting will be at 7.30pm on 8 September, where we look forward to seeing another picture of Jon’s grandson and to hear stories from everyone.  All are welcome.  The link will be on KCEE.

Videos for Year 12s

Many people have asked about our Year 12s and shared their best wishes for them. If you would like to grab your device and video a 3-5 second message, with a bit of wisdom, quote, or just a thumbs up and a wave, I have a student here who will collate it over the weekend.

Email your video to ck.ten@hotmail.com. The deadline is Sunday 9 August 2.00pm.

Again, a thank you to our community members who are reaching out to others and offering support and friendship.  Although there is COVID, other life experiences continue, and you make a difference to how people manage.

All the best as you navigate this changing environment, and I look forward to seeing many of you online. Stay positive.
