From the Principal's Desk

Another fantastic week at Martin's Gully!

Athletics

Finally our athletes got to participate in the Armidale PSSA Athletics.

Our students all ran, jumped and threw their hearts out and I was so proud, however I have never felt prouder than when Elsie Piddington stopped and forfeited her position in second place in the 200m to help a contestant who dropped to the ground 10m from the end.  Elsie didn’t hesitate to stop and make sure she was ok. This is true sportsmanship in its finest and something I have been shouting from the rooftops.  Well done Elsie, what a beautiful, kind person you are.

A huge thank you to the P&C and helpers for running the canteen and to those who baked yummy treats.

Thank you also to Armidale Secondary College students for their assistance throughout the day.

Our results were outstanding with the following students gaining places however not all students qualified.

Elsie, Archie, Alex, Sophie, Eily, Tyson, Nixon, Jarvis, Harry, Renee, Kai and Harry for individual events.  Our Senior Boys, Junior boys and Senior girls relays will also be representing Martin's Gully.

Book Parade

On Friday we can’t wait to hold our book parade.  Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week.  A week to celebrate reading.  MGPS will hold our book week on Friday in the quad area at 9am.

Assembly

Assemby is on Friday at 12pm.  K-2 choir.

Parking Area

A quick reminder to parents.  Please be aware that you may only park in the 5 minute parking area for 5 minutes between 8am-9:30am and 2:30-4pm. It is nice to park right out the front but it is a pull in and pull out area during these times and fines apply for parking longer than the signed time.

Cars may not stop in the no stopping area at all to pick up children.

Please be aware of the signage and follow the rules for your child’s and other children’s safety.

Have a great week!
