Gymnastics Victoria Clinics
All classes were lucky to have two amazing coaches from Gymnastics Victoria come to the school to teach the students all about the amazing sport of Gymnastics. The visit from Gymnastics Victoria is part of the funding we received from Sporting Schools, which is an initiative to introduce students to new sports and skills.
Students learnt:
- motorbike landing
- somersaults
- cartwheels
- wall stands
- balance beam
- gymnastics warm up stretches
All students embraced Gymnastics and displayed zest, teamwork, strength, balance and coordination. Most students were new to the sport of Gymnastics and approached the skills with an open mind and willingness to learn. We have a few students that are gymnasts and were able to shine in their chosen sport by modelling their exceptional skills to their class and the coaches, who all were very impressed.
Gymnastics has been a fantastic addition to the PE program this term, and one that I know will be a favourite in the end of term reflection.
