On Friday 2nd September we held our annual Fun and Fitness Day for our K-2 students. The day was led by the students from De La Salle Caringbah. The Physical Activity and Sports Studies (PASS) students did an amazing job assisting our students through a circuit of games and athletic events including high jump and sprint races. A big THANK YOU to all the parents who braved the cool weather and came and assisted the children or supported from the sideline. It was a fun day for our infants students that we look forward to each year.
The OLF students competed at the Sydney Athletics Championships on Friday, 26th August. We again had a lot of success with 14 students progressing to the next level. Congratulations on receiving the following positions to earn yourself a spot at the MacKillop Athletics Championships:
Last Tuesday, 30th of August, we had 7 teams from Years 4-6 participate at the NSWCPS Netball Gala Day. It was an early start for a big, but very enjoyable and fun day of netball! There was a fantastic showcase of skills, sportsmanship and team spirit. Teams enjoyed cheering each other on and an improv game at lunch time against the teachers!
Congratulations to our 12s Girls Blue team who won their division, going through the day undefeated! A HUGE thank you to all coaches (especially those who had to fill in at the last minute), umpires, student teachers and parents who assisted with scoring, which made for a successful day!
Zac B and Samuel E competed in the Mackillop Cricket Trial in Wagga Wagga last week. Samuel was successful in making the Mackillop Boys Cricket Team. He will now play in the NSWPSSA State Boys Cricket Championships in Dubbo in October. Congratulations to both boys on their fantastic achievements.
Pathway Sports are representative sporting trials that are held to promote school sport opportunities. These trials enable a student to represent and participate at various levels. The following CSNSW Pathway Sports offered to Year 4 and 5 students in Term 4, 2022 include:
- AFL
- Basketball (Boys)
- Cricket (Boys)
- Touch Football
Schools are able to nominate a set number of students for pathway trials. The process for selection is:
1. Students must have experience playing in regular competitions in the nominated sport outside of school.
2. Students must demonstrate a high level of skill, ability, talent and sportsmanship in the nominated sport.
3. In the event of having more students than the allocated number to attend the trial, a school trial may be held to determine nominees.
Please fill in the following CSNSW Pathway Sport Form Term 4 if you wish to nominate your child. Nominations close Friday, 9th September.
