Kindergarten Excursion

On Thursday 1st September, Kindergarten attended an excursion as part of their Geography and Health curriculum. Students had an early morning tea, departed school at 10:30am and walked to the Moree Fire Station. The children learnt about what to do in case of a fire, looked through the fire truck and everyone got to spray water from the fire hose!

Kindergarten students then walked to the Moree Police Station and were greeted by Sergeant Megan who showed us through the station and even in the police cells! Students loved dressing up in police uniform and looking through the different police vehicles. Students then posted letters at the Moree Post Office and walked to Kirkby Park for lunch and a play.

There was so much excitement when we had a visit from Moree Paramedics Jess and Simeon. The students were able to look through the ambulance and ask lots of questions. We all covered our ears when Jess turned on the ambulance siren-it was really loud! Kindergarten had a great day and learnt a lot.

2022 Primary Public Speaking

This year’s Primary Public Speaking Competition was another example of the enthusiasm and dedication our students have towards their learning. The students prepared and presented a speech to their homeroom. Up to six finalists from each grade were then chosen to present their speech on Wednesday 21 September to our guest adjudicators, Anne Johnson (7-10LoL), Kerrie Priddis (CSO) and Carrie Watchirs (Holy Trinity).

Year 5 and Year 6 Overnight Excursions

In Week 9 our Year 5 and Year 6 cohort set out on their respective overnight excursions.

Year 6 students travelled to Canberra for a week long excursion. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

Our Year 5 cohort travelled to Sydney and visited Taronga Zoo, The Opera House, a harbour cruise, Sydney Eye tower and historical tour of The Rocks.

It was a fantastic experience for our students. Thank you to our parent community, Leaders of Learning, aides and parent volunteers for your support in ensuring a successful excursion.
