The death of Queen Elizabeth II is one of the most momentous events in a generation. She was a real person who had great compassion for those she served tirelessly over her 70 year reign. In her 2014 Christmas message she shared the source of her strength and whose life she modelled herself on – Jesus Christ.

Mentors

May we take the time to think a little about these things and even reflect on who are the mentor/s in our own life? Who do we aspire to be like? Who are the mentors in our child’s life? What are our values? What do we care about?

It is clear to see that for the Queen, her role model was Jesus Christ and his example. His example is for all to follow and in fact he invites us all to get to know Him and His love more, with each passing day.

Can I suggest that over the holidays you find a time and place for quiet reflection. To allow yourself and your children to be refreshed, as you mindfully stop and reflect. 

Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun together as well.
