BEGINNING OF TERM 4 - MONDAY 3RD OCTOBER 8:50AM

Dear Families,

We have come to the end of yet another busy term full of exciting learning opportunities and events for all in our community and as a staff we are proud of all of the achievements that the children have made in their learning. Thank you to the staff for their hard work and dedication to St Michael’s throughout this term and to the parents for your ongoing support and trust that you place in us.

Year 3/4 Camp

The Year 3/4 children had a wonderful time on their overnight camp at Sunnystones on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, the first Year 3/4 camp since Covid. It was a great opportunity for the children to try things that they may not have tried before, take risks, problem solve, work as a team, encourage each other, build and make new friendships and most importantly, to have fun! The children (and staff) arrived back very tired but spoke very highly of their 2 days away. Special thank you to the staff, Lauren, Claire, Susan, Nathan, Tracey, Grace and Ezza who accompanied the children at camp and for their help and organisation to ensure it was a successful experience.

MACSSIS Survey

Thank you to all of the families who completed this survey. The data we get back from it will assist the staff to make improvements across the school.

Child Safety Standards

In order to align with all states across Australia, Victoria introduced 11 new Child Safe Standards. These standards came into effect on July 1st, 2022 and all schools must comply with them. The Child Safe Standards aim to protect children and young people, by requiring organisations to put policies, procedures, and processes in place to prevent and respond to abuse. They aim to keep children and young people safe, a key focus of organisations in Victoria. Under 'Wellbeing News' you will find an outline of the 11 new standards.

Year 3/4 Sacrament of First Reconciliation

Congratulations to the following children who made their First Reconciliation/Confession last Wednesday night:

Anderson, Lana, Brielle, Sabrina, Jeremy, Hailey, Oslo, Trisha, Estelle, Austin & Tiffany

'May our Lord Bless you as you receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. May His Mercy give you peace and His presence ever guide you'.

School Uniform Term 4

A reminder that during Term 4, children are required to wear their summer uniforms and school hats.

We welcome back Denise from her Long Service Leave at the beginning of next term. We hope she had a fantastic time away!

Wishing your family a safe school holiday break spent relaxing and re-energising and sharing happy times with each other. We will see you refreshed and ready for a jam-packed Term 4!

All students attending St Michael's Primary School have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.
