Principal's Notes

Dear families and friends,

Well another busy week has gone by.  Our main event this week was our Book Week Dress Up Day. All the children looked amazing.  We have also had so many people help out with jobs at school this week and we are very appreciative of their time.

Thank you

A big thank you to Claire Quinn and her Mum Heather for coming and pruning the fruit trees and assisting us with the planting of new plants in the foundation garden at the front of the school and also for the Quinn family donating and delivering some rocks for a garden border.  Claire, we are so appreciative of you donating your spare time to the school garden.

This week we have been pulling up the old carpet, vinyl and underlay in readiness for the installation of new carpet today.  A huge thank you to Claire Quinn, Miss Thompson, Mrs B, Tammy, Talia and Fletcher for helping pull it all up.  It was certainly a workout!!

Thank you to Tim Huf and his assistant for coming at short notice to remove the Music Room door so the carpet could be installed.

A big thank you to Jeremy and Shaun Lewis for coming and disposing of the carpet and vinyl and to Peter and Jake Hardy, Lachlan Crawford and Cody Glenn for helping move the fridge and piano and pulling up the remaining vinyl.

Book Week - Dress Up Day/Parade

The whole school has enjoyed the 2022 Book Week. The Junior School Council have reading some of the shortlisted picture story books to the whole school each morning this week.  Yesterday we had our dress up day where the students came dressed up as one of their favourite book characters. The costumes looked amazing! The effort and creativity of all our families always impress me each year. This year, we also got to enjoy the company of the Kindergarten students again. The kinder students came to school all dressed up and we were very excited for them to be here to share our parade. Please take some time to enjoy the wonderful photos.

Netball Championships in Melbourne

Next Wednesday, our senior netball team will be representing Cavendish Primary School at the Schools Netball Championship in Melbourne in the mixed team event. This is a huge opportunity to play against teams from all over the state at the State Netball Centre. The team has been coached and trained by Mrs Brabham and Tammy.  Many thanks to all our teams families for transporting the students to Melbourne,  supporting this opportunity and experience for our students. We wish our team well and we will share photos and results in next weeks newsletter.

Also a big thank you to Quinns Sportspower who donated a new netball to the School.

Cavendish Football Netball Club - Grand Final

We would like to wish all our netballers and footballers the very best for this week's South West Grand final at Heywood.

We have the 13 & Under netballers - Talia and Fletcher playing at 12:45 against Dartmoor.  Also, the 11 & Unders have been chosen to play a game before the A Grade final.

We look forward to hearing the results and hopefully lots of good news.

GO BLOODS!
