Murrumbidgee Police Awards Ceremony

Mr Segrave together with Sanita Lole organised Aoteroa Fillipo and Rebecca Ikenasio to perform the National Anthem at the Murrumbidgee Police Awards held at the Exies Bagtown in Griffith.

Friday 19th of August, Students, Staff and Parents from our MCC Pacific Community gathered together at Pioneer Park to thank Mr Alan Le Brocque for his leadership, kindness, generosity and support for the education of our pacific students. It was an expressive farewell shared with music, delicious pacific cuisine and the night ended with beautiful performances from the MCC Students and a sentimental and memorable pacific gift presented to Alan Le Brocque and is lovely wife Kate Le Brocque.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the parents and students who attended and contributed to the evening.

Thank you  to Pioneer Park Museum for giving us the opportunity to host our MCC pacific dinner to farewell our principal of 14 years.  Thank you to our staff Francine Di Lorenzo for her attendance and capturing the beautiful evening and Veniana Caqusau for being our MC for the night.

Empower, Encourage, Enlighten Program - Griffith PCYC

Enlighten Education works with teen girls to develop self-esteem and confidence.  Their programs are delivered to schools and are designed to help girls decode the mixed messages they receive and help them develop self-esteem and confidence.

They are designed to be delivered in schools and are targeted at students aged 15–16. PCYC Workshops cover everything from helping young people manage their friendships, to increasing their sense of gratitude, to becoming advocates for social change. Enlighten will encourage our young female students to reach their own conclusions and to know their own minds.

We also believe learning should be fun. Enlighten workshops provide a positive, engaging range of experiences that teens deeply enjoy from start to finish.

CAREVAN

Another very productive Wednesday of Carevan. The students and staff were so energetic and enthusiastic, that the cooking room of T1 was filled with lots of Joy and most importantly team work. Carevan has really taken off this term, that students from all year groups have taken an in interest in Carevan such as; How it operates, why we cook, Where the fried rice goes and its purpose.

Carevan is such a great project for both staff and students. Activities related to cooking are the perfect resource for kids to learn to develop different skills in a didactic way. It is time to take advantage of the time spent at home and start to teach your children something new and exciting! Cooking will help them in the future and bring amazing benefits in the present.

With carevan comes with team work. Cooperating from an early age will help kids to socialise and work with others! Cooking classes generate great interaction between kids, achieving successful teamwork. For students, cooking becomes a great team activity.
