A reminder for students to return their Red Shield Appeal application forms to the Student Office this week

Mission & Identity

Term 1 has been a long term which has been both productive and life giving for our community. This term we have had some of our major liturgical celebrations with the Commencement Mass, Ash Wednesday, the Lenten and Project Compassion Campaign and our Easter Liturgy.

As a Catholic Community it is important that we journey through the year alongside the seasons of the Church which both direct our faith and support us. Thank you to the many staff and students who have participated in or supported these significant events.

As this term ends we are challenged to continue our focus on the Easter messagethat reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus gave in dying on the cross so that we may have eternal life. We continue to build upon our theme of Stewards of Creation by acknowledging the value of all creation, including our relationships and our impact on others.

The staff will attend their Spirituality Day this Friday at Oxford Falls where they will unpack the encyclical ‘Laudato Si’. As we gain more insight into this wonderful document by Pope Francis it is very clear of the importance of its message, not only for the people of the world but the community of St Pius X College.

I wish you and your family a restful break and quality time together.

Upcoming events:

  • Chapel Mass - Tuesday 1st May 8am
  • Anzac Day Assembly Liturgy - Tuesday 1st May
  • Senior Mothers Day Liturgy and Junior Mothers' Day Mass - Friday 11th May

A reminder to all students who have a Red Shield Appeal application form to return them to the student office this week please.

Project Compassion

Project Compassion has finished and a huge congratulations to the entire school community for raising $11,806.40. This huge effort was largely through homerooms; however special mention must be made to the P&F who raised over $500 on Open Day and the Edmund Rice Society who raised over $700 with their pancake stall.
