From the Principal Team

What a week!  Science Fair, Footy Colours, a night at the Palais, The National Gallery Excursion, School Council and an array of happy faces is what greeted my return to The Lakes this week.

Over 200 visitors attended a spectacular Science Fair showcasing the innovation and dissection of scientific concepts by the inquiring minds of our Lakes students.  Teachers and students should be very proud of the learning and understanding exhibited on the night.

Wakakirri, I am speechless and in awe of the creativity and dignity demonstrated by our team as they created new friendships and experiences in the halls of The Palais, a beautiful Theatre in St Kilda that has played host to the elite of the entertainment industry.  The Lakes was awarded The Most Inspirational Story in the Secondary Schools Section State Wide and placed in the Top 10. So, so proud and honoured to be one of 14 staff and lots of parents who witnessed your brilliant performance.

Just a couple of updates. New uniform items will start to be available from Mid-October and Parent Teacher Interviews are next week, please make the effort to join us.

Finally a reminder that adults approaching or abusing students is not on. This week we have yet again had issues with aggressive and inappropriate confrontations with adults and other people’s children. Please try and be calm.

Enjoy your weekend. Go the Pies.
