PERFORMING ARTS CAPTAIN

Congratulations to Lachlan Ceravolo (Year 12) on his appointment as the Performing Arts Captain for 2017. Lachlan is actively involved in both music and drama at the College and is deserving of this position.

 

COLLEGE ORCHESTRA WORKSHOP

On Sunday morning students in the College Orchestra kindly gave up their time to workshop new repertoire for 2017 and consolidate works which will be performed in coming weeks. This dedication and commitment is admirable and greatly appreciated. Well done boys!

 

YEAR 9 MUSIC PERFORMANCE NIGHT

Year 9 Music students will be presenting their second solo performances of the year next Wednesday 9th November, 5.30pm in the College Band Room. Parents and friends are warmly invited to attend and support the boys. Parking will be available in the Junior School yard.

 

PAPA AGM

The Performing Arts Parents Association held their Annual General Meeting on Monday night in the Core Music Room. The meeting farewelled outgoing Treasurer Steve Benson and Secretary Sherry Hawkins and thanked Year 12 parents Christine Ross and Marie McKenzie for their support over a number of years. Odette Shahady and Tanya Ceravolo accepted the positions of President and Vice President for a second year. Paul Knox was welcomed back to the Committee as the new Secretary and Ute Appenzeller as the new Treasurer. Thank you to Carmel Daniels, Karen Saddington and Ingird Larijssen who remain in the roles of Barbeque Food Coordinator, Barbeque Drinks Coordinator and Raffle Coordinator respectively. Moving into the 80th year, the Performing Arts staff and students are in good hands!

 

MEET THE MUSIC CONCERT

Years 9, 10 and 11 Elective Music students will attend the final concert in this series on Wednesday 16th November (Week 6), 6.30pm at the Opera House. The concert concludes at approximately 8.30pm. Students must be neatly attired and be in their seats no later than 6.20pm. Tickets will be given to students in the next week.

 

TWILIGHT CONCERT

The final concert for the year is on Friday 2nd December, commencing at 5.00pm in the Junior School playground. All Music ensembles will be performing. The Performing Arts Parents Association will be manning the barbeques and there will be a Christmas raffle. Please join us to celebrate the end of another satisfying and busy year for Performing Arts at St Pius.

 

ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS 2017

New enrolment auditions are taking place on Saturday 12th and 19th November between 9.00am – 2.00pm in the College Band Room. Current students who missed out on auditioning for Concert and Jazz Bands last term are welcome to attend. INSTRUMENTAL TUITION 2017
