PEARLS OF WISDOM
FROM OUR DADS!
Dads give wonderful advice to their children. Our Community Leaders, Ben Dixon and Anastasia Fokianos, asked our students about their dad’s words of wisdom and found out how special and wise our dads are. Here are some of their wise words.
.
Dads tell us how special we are...
- You’re always in my heart. Dad will always forgive you.
- Do the little things that make you shine.
- It doesn’t matter what you look like it’s what is on the inside that matters.
- Have a happy life. I believe in you. I tell you because I love you.
- As long as you’re happy with it, I’m happy with it.
- Big things come in small packages.
- Don’t think about money all the time; just have a good life.
- Be a leader not a follower because you are your own person and you don’t need to be anyone else.
Dads teach us how to treat others...
- If you’re nice to others, they’ll repay you with respect.
- A good leader doesn’t make anyone feel less about themselves.
- Don’t judge a book by its cover.
- Help your brothers and sisters.
- Treat people the way you want to be treated.
- Respect people.
Dads teach us resilience...
- When you get knocked down you get back up again.
- Be positive. Be brave. Be happy.
- Don’t worry it’s just a game.
- There’s always next time. Someone has to come last.
- It doesn’t matter if you don’t win; at least you tried your best.
- If you fall off the horse get back up and go riding.
- Laughter is the best medicine.
- Go with your gut and do the right thing.
Dads teach us persistence...
- Don’t give up. Keep trying. Nothing is impossible
- Practise makes perfect. You can do it. Just do it.
- Keep working hard because it is going to pay off.
- There’s no right or wrong.
- It doesn’t matter if you make a mistake we learn from mistakes.
- Work hard. Try again. Never give up. Always try your best.
- Always have a go; you have to be in things even if you come last.
- Study hard and you can be whatever you want.
- Do your homework and you’ll be smarter.
- Work hard now and it will be easier tomorrow.
- It’s not the size of the dog in the fight that matters it’s the size of the fight in the dog
- Do your homework and you’ll be smarter.
- Stick to your guns and go with your gut.
- Go on with your passions; don’t worry what others think.
Dads teach us to be organised...
- Do what you need to do now then what you want to do later.
- Think before you do it. Think 2 steps ahead.
Dads teach us to be confident...
- It doesn’t matter if you get it wrong; you might get it right next time.
Dads teach us about life...
- Aim for your dreams
- If you do something too much you won’t enjoy it.
- Don’t overlook the obvious.
- Don’t think about money all the time; just have a good life.
- Spend money on things you need not on things you want.
- Be what you want to be in your life.
DID YOU SEE THIS?
Our school featured in the local paper because our DAD Jokes were the BEST!
Giselle: Why did Dad bring a spare pair of socks to golf? In case he got a hole in one.
Anastasia: A lizard and a bear sat down by a lake for a picnic. The lizard went to have a drink of water from the lake. While the lizard was away an alligator jumped out of the lake and came up to the bear. The bear looked at the alligator in shock and said; “Lizard! How much water did you drink?”
Meghan: Why can’t you hear a pterodactyl on the toilet? Because the P is silent.
WELL DONE GIRLS!
A Father's Day Prayer
Let us pray for their vocation as models and examples for their children. Let us pray for our fathers who have gone before us, that they may enjoy the joy, light and peace of being with the Heavenly Father.
God our Father,
In your wisdom and love you made all things.
Bless those fathers who have taken upon themselves,
the responsibility of parenting.
Bless those who have lost a spouse to death or divorce,
who are parenting their children alone.
Strengthen them by your love that they may be and become the loving, caring persons thay are meant to be.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
