Book Week

Dear Parents and Friends

The students really enjoyed dressing up as their favourite character last week as we celebrated ‘Book Week’. The Book Fair, Book Parade and class activities were a great highlight. I would like to thank all members of our community for supporting and promoting Book Week which is an opportunity to highlight the importance of reading. Special thanks to all the staff for all their hard work in organising this event. Thank you also for supporting our Book Fair. It has been a wonderful success and again it is fantastic to see our students and families so enthusiastic about reading.  We've included photos in the Classroom News page in today's newsletter.

Thank you also to our Parents and Friends for organising our Hot Food Day which ran very smoothly.

Father's Day

Happy Father’s Day! We hope all our dads had a great day yesterday. It was terrific to see so many families attend our special parish mass yesterday and thank you to Mrs Hedley and our choir for providing the music.

Thank you to our P&F for organising our raffle. Our Father’s Day stall was also very well organised and it was terrific to see the excitement of the students when purchasing a present. Thank you to Mary Lombardozzi and Lucy Leahy her team of helpers.

Thank you to the P & F and the many helpers, who made our Father’s Day breakfast a wonderful success. We are so blessed to have such a strong and connected community and it was terrific to see so many dads and grandparents at the breakfast.

Coburg District Athletics Carnival

Special congratulations to our students who participated in the Coburg District Athletics Carnival last week. Over all St Fidelis' finished second in the competition which is a great achievement! Thank you to Mr Jennings for preparing the students and organising this day. We are very fortunate to have such an excellent Physical Education Program. Please see all the details in the Physical Education report.

Photography at School School Events

I would like to remind all parents about our school’s procedures around parents taking photographs of students at our school. St Fidelis’ Primary School allows members of the school community to take photographs and videos of their children at school assemblies, class presentations, performances, sporting events etc. In accordance with the Privacy & Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) & Education Department guidelines, members of the school community are restricted to only photograph/video their children. Images of other students must not be published on social media or in any other form without the prior consent of parents & guardians whose children may unintentionally appear in the images. I appreciate your support and understanding with this matter.

Parent Code of Conduct

We have included two new policies in the School Information page of the newsletter - the Parent Code of Conduct Policy and the Parent Complaints and Grievances Policy. The Parent Code of Conduct is also included in today's newsletter and I ask that all parents take the time to familiarise yourself with this document. We are very fortunate that our parents are always respectful however, it is important for everyone to be aware of the appropriate procedures when communicating.

Assembly

Miss Munari’s Year 3/4 students will lead our assembly which will be held this Friday morning, September 7th commencing at 9:00 a.m. in the hall. Parents are always welcome to attend.

School Uniform

In accordance with our SunSmart requirements, all students are now required to wear their school hat.  Winter uniform will still be worn until the end of this term.

Please ensure that you child is wearing the correct school uniform.  This includes the correct colour school socks with the both the school and sports uniform.

School Fees

We have just a few families who are yet to finalise their schools fees. All fees are now due and I ask that you ensure full payment is made by the end of this term. Please make an appointment to see me if you would like to discus your account.

I hope you have a great week.
