A Team - Game Time Changes: There have been some changes to this Saturday’s game times at the Central Coast. The 13A and 14A teams both play at 9:00am and the 15A and 17A teams both play at 12:00 noon. The Firsts play at 10:00am.
D Teams: Next Saturday there will be a bus travelling to Moss Vale Basketball Stadium where our D teams will play Chevalier B Teams. The departure time will be in next weeks Woodchatta.
The Firsts gave reigning champions St Augustine’s a real battle on Saturday. The game was neck and neck right up to the final buzzer. It was a promising result for us and I hope we can build on that result as we approach the second half of the season. Central Coast will be hard to beat at their home court this Saturday and we will need to be at our best again.
Another day of mixed results with 15 wins from 29 games. The D teams had a good run against Oakhill Navy teams. Our B teams did well against St Gregory’s As and our C teams had good results against Blue Mountains As.
Game of the day: 13Fs, 10 - 8 win over Oakhill White at Oakhill. Absolute nail bitter.
Play of the day: Patrick Moore with a Free throw to win it for the 14As.
Deserves a mention: Sam Holm, Jake Baynie – 13A. Jack Thiessen, Ryan Johnson – 13C.
Finlay McKechnie, Rhys Johnson – 13E. Conor Lo, Matthew Kachel – 14C.
Will Stanley, Bailey Kee – 14E.

1st XI v Chevalier College – ISA Round 4 at Chevalier College
An exciting game of cricket saw the 1st XI fight hard to secure a narrow two wicket victory against Chevalier at Bowral. Having lost the toss, the SPX team was asked to field and despite some good bowling especially from Louis Mossman (1/10 off 10 overs) and spinners Mac Carrall and Tim McLachlan, the home side were 3 for 90. A dramatic Chevalier collapse ensued led by Captain James Brown (3-22) and Ryan Kelleher (2-8) as the Chevalier team was bowled out for 124. The 1st XI did well in the field to take six catches and two run outs including a brilliant direct hit from Liahm Williams. Regular wickets fell throughout the 1st XI innings as several players made starts before getting out. Williams (31 off 40 balls) batted aggressively in a game turning performance. Nick McLachlan played a sensible innings to steer the side home in a tense finish. The 1st XI remains undefeated after four rounds of competition.

NSTA Tennis
Round 4: As usual everyone arrived eager to get on the courts and play tennis. There was a lot of friendly banter and some great shots by all team members throughout the day. It was great to see the Junior School boys in Pius 22 vs Pius 23 enjoying their game so much. Thanks must go to Lachlan Gauci who umpired the game then hung around to have a friendly hit with the boys; I know that the Juniors really appreciated the time given to them. It is great to see the newcomers to tennis, Alex and Joseph from Team 20 improving every week with some excellent rallies on show for the spectators on the day.
The second session began right on time and with 3 of the 6 games being Pius vs Pius it was set to be an exciting morning. Special mention must go to both Riad and Victor Lahoud from SPX 1 who played some outstanding tennis against some very strong opposition. The boys worked hard to return some killer serves from Redlands top team but unfortunately lost a well-fought battle. Despite a loss by SPX 11 it must be noted that both Aiden Shearer-Hawkins and Alexander Clelland played some excellent tennis against Redlands, with some fantastic rallies between them.
Special thanks also to Patrick Djizmedjian and Ben Casey for playing up to fill in for a couple of boys who were unable to make the games.
Please note that we have one more round next weekend before the finals and play-offs that will be held on Saturday 25th November.
