If I Was Prime Minister

With the federal election just completed, the Foundation children read the story  'If I Was Prime Minister' by Bec and Robin Finer. The story inspired the children to write their own book on "If I Was Prime Minister" with our own amazingly talented writer and teacher Natalie Dodds.

The children were given the sentence starter If I was Prime Minister I would…….

Make a machine to make everyone happy. (Mikayla)

Pick up all the rubbish on the floor. (Beau)

Give some food to people who don't have any. (Sienna)

Help sick people with no homes or money, so they can go to the doctors for free. (Iris)

Help dogs if they are hurt. (Mila)

Help the sea by picking up rubbish. (Matilda)

Make an announcement to everyone to stop littering. (Madison)

Help people who can see. (Audrey)

Help everyone and give people with no home a home. (Eve)

Save the trees and the animals. (Alice)

Let everyone have dessert after dinner. (Arran)

Let poor people have a home and some money. (Lucia)

Get all the rubbish out of the ocean. (Holly)

Help the footy players. (Nick)

Go to the beach and pick up rubbish in the sand. (Matilda)

Make people that don't have homes feel better. (Peyton)

Make a sick bay for dogs. (Ethan)

Help the ocean and the environment. (Anita)

Make dessert happen first. (Poppy)

Save the animals in the sea. (Madelyn)

St James Alumni

Last Friday night I was fortunate enough to be entertained by  the incredible production of Madagascar Junior at Xavier College in Kew.

Xavier College Kostka Hall and Sacre Coeur worked together for months to produce this entertaining musical.

The wonderful surprise of the night was the amount of past students who shined in the performance. It was a celebration of St James talent.

The lead roles were performed by two past students of St James, Orlando  Magasdi who played Alex the Lion and Vigo Visentini who played Marty the Zebra. Jamie Bevilacqua played Lars and Lee, and Charlie Strode was in the chorus. James Power helped backstage.  The boys were amazing to watch and I felt a great sense of pride for the talents they showed during the performance.

Many St James families attended the performance. The Trist, Magasadi,Hayden, Vaughan, Visentini, Power, Strode and Bevilacqua families were all there ejoying the night.

Well done boys!
