Role at Boorowa Central School: History and English teacher

Qualifications: A Bachelor of Education, K-12. I began at Sydney University and finished my degree at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga.

My career so far: After graduating in December, this is my first full time teaching job and I’m loving it! Last year I taught casually and did blocks (a few weeks at a time while teachers were away) in schools around Wagga Wagga, both in high school and primary schools.

Experiences : I once jumped out of a plane in Austria.

Why I became a teacher : When I left school I worked at a school in England for a year and absolutely loved it. My Mum also teaches English and history so I’m sure she had something to do with it too.

My favourite teaching successes:  Seeing students feel proud of the milestones they’ve achieved.

Why I love teaching at Boorowa Central School: I was lucky enough to do my final prac here last year and absolutely loved it. I love how in smaller schools more opportunities are open to you (I went to a huge high school and you had to be the best at something to represent the school). I love small communities and how everyone is friendly and familiar.

Something you do not know about me:  I have an identical twin
