White Card training
On Wednesday the 11 March, 13 brave students undertook White Card Training. This involved a full day of learning about Workplace Health and Safety followed by three different forms of assessment - practical, written and oral. It wasn't easy, but I'm proud to say that all 13 students completed the competency: Prepare to work safely in the construction industry and, as you can see in the photo, received their certificates.
Well done Team!

Primary Industries
This term Stage 6 primary industry classes have been developing skills in three units of competency consisting of operate tractors, operate machinery and equipment and inspect and clean machinery for plant, animal and soil material.
Students have been learning various areas of machinery maintenance and the importance of safety when using any form of farm machinery. Tractors are one of the leading causes of accidental deaths and serious injury on farms in Australia.
In practical classes students have developed skills in tractor driving as well as the connection and removal of three point linkage and PTO (power take off) driven implements.

Boys mentoring project
On Wednesday evening, four students from the Boys Mentoring TUFF (Talking and Upskilling the Fellas Forum) project addressed the Boorowa branch of Rotarians about their recent trip to the Snowy Mountains.
Ben Klose, James Farrell, Josh Demont, and Malcolm Porritt took time out from their busy extra-curricular sporting and work activities to share their experiences and thoughts about the aim of the project.
They also acknowledged the valuable assistance Rotary have contributed by significantly funding the trip.
The actual hike on the Main Range threw into the mix a number of situations. The boys saw opportunities to work as a team, encourage each other and develop relationships with peers they don’t necessarily interact with frequently. All the boys thought the trip was rewarding and worthwhile.
