Principal's Report
A Message from Sue the Wheatley Rd Crossing Lady
Don't worry! I havent retired, I am just escaping with my husband in search of sunshine and warmer weather. I will be on long service leave from the 12th August to the 12th of September.
I will be back for the last week of Term 3, and looking forward to seeing you all and telling you all about my adventures.
DET Parent Opinion Survey 2016
Last week the Department of Education and Training (DET) Parent Opinion Surveys families were returned to school. We highly value the return of these and Ormond Primary Staff and Council will use this data to inform school improvement.
2016 NAPLAN
I read on Wednesday in the newspaper about the 2016 NAPLAN results. Although information was provided to the press, all schools receive results when they are uploaded to the school’s NAPLAN page. As soon as results are made available to us, we will ensure that the school community and families of children who completed them are informed of our achievements.
Year 3 Camp
Tomorrow I will be accompanying the grade 3 students and their teachers to the Briars Camp on the Mornington Peninsula. For some of these children it will be the first time they have slept away from home. This experience provides a fun introduction to our school camp program and I am looking forward to sharing it with them.
Korean Visit
Last week we hosted Mrs Jeen Sook Chung, Principal of Gongju Elementary School, South Korea and Mrs Insun Chang Korean Language Advisor, DET. This was an opportunity to showcase our school and the various curriculum programs undertaken by our students. Mrs Chung was extremely impressed with the student’s enthusiasm and attentiveness to their studies.
