SCHOOL PRODUCTION

XANADU 

Xanadu rehearsals continue to roll on. We've been getting straight into some of the bigger numbers in the show, and last week was no exception! Students have been very quick to pick up both the vocals and choreography for 'Dancin' - one of the catchiest numbers and funniest scenes in the show. 

Sonny (Darcey Rowntree) sneaks into an old theatre owned by Danny (Theo Georgiou). Danny finds him there and explains to Sonny the vision he once had for the place back in the 40s, an entertainment venue, with 'classy stuff - swing music and three girls singing in tight, tight harmony'.  We then get a beautiful 40s Andrews Sisters style performance (led by Ashleigh Damen, Brianna Birthisel-Mulready and Rebecca Clark).  However, Sonny reminds Danny that style of music went out long ago, this is the 80s, where rock music rules!  So in response we find the rock band 'The Tubes' (led by Aly Hogeboom, Tyler Borg, Sian Jones and Emily Reynolds) belting out a banger rock song. 

What results is an incredibly cool fuse of the two genres. It's definitely a number to look forward to and we can't wait for you to see and hear it yourself!
