Active Primary Care

Shepparton High School’s Active Primary Care students have enjoyed the responsibility of running an active primary program and represented Shepparton High School with pride.
SHS students have displayed a high level of respect towards both staff and students of Orrvale Primary school and should be commended on their efforts.
During part of Term 3 and 4, Year 9 students from Shepparton High School, have been travelling to Orrvale Primary School to run activities with grade 5/6 and 3/4 students.
The students involved have displayed a great level of organisational skills by creating their own activities and teaching them to the primary students.
The program that SHS students have developed has been based around the game of Soft Cross, with an emphasis of further developing the catching and throwing skills of students. SHS students have also had experience in running similar programs for Bourchier Street and St Georges Road Primary Schools.
Our students have commented on how well Orrvale Primary students listen and follow instructions and have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Orrvale students.
Each unit of activities has been concluded with a presentation of certificates to the primary school students based on Shepparton High Schools core values of Respect, Responsibility and Commitment as well as those of Orrvale Primary School of Respect, Responsibility, Personal Excellence, Courage and Empathy.
Shepparton High School would like to thank Orrvale Primary School for the opportunity to run this program and further develop a positive relationship between the two schools.
