Fisher Newsletter Term One

WELCOME TO FISHER!

We’d like to welcome many of you back to Fisher. We are pleased to be reacquainting with families from past years. Our team is looking forward to getting to know you all and working in partnership with you to build a successful and positive year for your child. Our team – Trent, Maria, Anton, Kim, Nat and Belinda - would like to thank you for taking the time to complete the Confidential Surveys and for attending Acquaintance Meetings. We found the meetings to be a worthwhile experience and appreciated the chance to meet you and discuss, with your valued input, ways we can help your child achieve their best in 2015. As you entered the Fisher building for your interview, you may have noticed the many changes to the learning spaces in the classrooms and in the shared areas.

We are very pleased with the enthusiastic start to 2015 in each of the Fisher classes. The building has a very calm and positive energy and is a great place to be working. Many of our students did not know each other or their teacher at the beginning of the year. Over the first two weeks, classes participated in many ‘getting to know you’ and trust type activities as well as worked together to establish class expectations, agreements and routines to assist in creating a safe and supportive environment. Supporting each other in our learning, as well as working effectively as a team are two ways to improve learning outcomes.
