SHRINE OF REMEMBRANCE

Anzac Day Legacy Day Excursion

Once again students from Lilydale High School attended the Legacy Day ceremony as part of the commemorations to remember those who fought in battles for Australia.

Legacy Day is an important event, in particular with this being the centenary of World War 1, as it was during this battle that soldiers that were not to return home could know that their families would be cared for by this wonderful foundation.

In attendance were thousands of primary and secondary school students from across the state, including 36 students from Lilydale High School.

From Lilydale High School, present were School Captain Shelby Parsons, SRC President Emma Morrison and Humanities Captains Blake Wynne and Molly Grant.  Blake and Molly had the honour of laying the wreath along with hundreds of other schools.

Once again we can be proud of the students from a range of year levels, who set an exemplary standard of behaviour and respect.

We look forward to attending the next major event at the Shrine of Remembrance – The Battle for Australia ceremony, which will be advertised on Compass.
