SCHOOL INFORMATION

THURSDAY 7 MAY
School Basketball Stadium Car Park
'Exercise East' is an annual regional Emergency Exercise involving all councils in the Eastern Metropolitan Region. The Emergency Exercise is used to test the management of a local facility that could be called upon as an Emergency Relief Centre.
In the Yarra Ranges municipality, our Basketball Stadium is one of a number of facilities that could be used to provide basic food, water, shelter and other services to community members who, for whatever reason, have had to leave or can’t get back to their homes as a result of a large scale emergency.
This year’s exercise to be held on Thursday 7 May, will involve some 140 people from Yarra Ranges, Monash, Whitehorse and Nillumbik Councils as well as agencies like the Police, Red Cross, The Salvation Army and Department of Health and Human Services who support the operation of an Emergency Relief Centre.
Due to numbers, please avoid the car park at the stadium for drop off and pick up, between the hours of 8.00 am and 3.30 pm.
If you would like more information about the Emergency Exercise, please contact Kym Mallamaci (Yarra Ranges Council) on 9294 6713 or Stuart Young, Assistant Principal on 9735 5644.
