FROM THE PRINCIPAL

TERM 3 - WEEK 7

To the St Nicholas School Community

It’s happened again!

The St Nicholas School Graffiti Fairy has struck again! Please keep your eyes open and ears to the ground so we can catch this vandal. Our school is coated with kind and inspirational messages. The latest masterpieces challenge our kids to control what they can, their attitudes.

Executive Review and Planning

The St Nicholas School Executive will meet this Friday for our quarterly review of the 2019 Annual Improvement plan. Through a critical lens we will identify areas for celebration and future focus.

What targets have we achieved or are on track to achieve? How do we know?

What do we need to place greater energy into, with refined strategies, if we are to achieve our 2019 target?

Our focus will then move 2020. As proud as we can be of St Nicholas, there is still plenty of work to do if we demand continued improvement.

Street Appeal

Transforming the front of St Nicholas School to have the same "wow" factor as what lies behind our entrance is now well and truly underway. Once the artificial turf is laid on Monday, the space will be equipped with outdoor furniture. Along with being a comfortable place to relax, this area can be utilised as an outdoor classroom which supports our teachers pedagogy of modelling, sharing guiding and providing our students with independent learning opportunities.

Teacher Assistants Appreciation Week

We are currently celebrating Teacher Assistant Appreciation Week. It is important to celebrate the wonderful dedication and professionalism of St Nicholas School Education Assistants. On behalf of the school community I thank our Education Assistants and acknowledge the crucial role they play in supporting our teachers and students in reaching the faith, learning and well-being outcomes.

Fathers Day

Last Friday’s Fathers Day celebrations at St Nicholas School once again showcase the amazing sense of community we have at St Nicholas School. Thank you to all fathers who celebrated with us at school and gave us the opportunity to thank you for the amazing role you play in the lives of our students.

Bore

After considerable planning, this Saturday, 7th September, Tamworth Drilling will be on site to drill a bore for the school. This bore will hopefully go along way to future proofing our grounds from some of the devastating effects of the current and future droughts.

Have a wonderful week.
