STUDENT DIARIES

Parents are reminded to check their children’s school diaries regularly. All students should be making entries for all their subjects each day. They are required to record whether homework is given, what tasks are required and when they are due. If no specific tasks are set for homework, students should revise and prepare for approaching assessment tasks, such as tests and exams. Students who have difficulty using their diary appropriately, revising effectively and completing homework on time should approach their Student Managers for assistance and support.

ORDERING SCHOOL PHOTOS ONLINE

A reminder to parents/carers that if you want to purchase school photos you need to register online with Arthur Reed Photos. To do this you will need the individualised code provided to each student on Photo Day. If you don't have this code, or need assistance with ordering, please contact Arthur Reed Photos directly: 03 5243 4390 / customerservice@arphotos.com.au.

The process for ordering is:

  1. Go to https://order.arphotos.com.au
  2. Enter the 2020 individualised code for your child (from their personalised flyer)
  3. Fill in your email and mobile details
  4. You’ll be notified by email/SMS when images are ready to view and purchase.

Please note that all photo packages are being sent directly home this year so ensure all delivery details are correct upon checkout.

PARKING AND SAFETY ON MCKINNON ROAD

Staff from Glen Eira City Council have recently been photographing (and issuing infringement notices to) drivers that are dropping off children in the bus zone outside McKinnon Secondary College and stopping in the ‘no parking/standing’ zones. Please be careful to observe and obey all signs in McKinnon Road. Traffic congestion is a continuing problem near the College and we ask for your cooperation in driving carefully and ensuring the safety of all children in the surrounding streets (including the many students who cycle to and from school).

Please encourage your child to always wear a bike helmet when riding to and from school and to take particular care when approaching the school in the morning and leaving at the end of the day. Also, if your child is catching the bus to/from school, please ensure they have a topped-up MYKI and remind them about the importance of using appropriate manners when travelling on public transport. As ambassadors for the College, all our students should be displaying and promoting our values of ‘Respect’ and ‘Community’.
