Year 10 Work Placement

Year 10 Applied Learners – 6-17 June

All other Year 10 students – 14-17 June

This is a compulsory Year 10 program and students who have not managed to secure a placement and/or complete the required tasks necessary for placement to be approved are expected to attend school as scheduled and will join Year 9 and 11 classes for the duration of their scheduled placement period.

2023 Course Information

• Year 10 students received Course Information at a Careers Session held on 17 May.
• Year 11 and 12 students received Course/Tertiary information via TIS and the following debrief on 18 May.
• Information Sessions for Year 8 and 9 relating to 2023 Course Information and subject selection will take place on Wednesday 8 June.
• The 2023 MSCW Course Guide is still being finalised. The Weekly Career Notices on Simon will advise when this is available. 
• Applications for Acceleration and Applied Learning programs are also being finalised and will be made available to students soon. Links to application details and forms will be in the Course Guide.
• 2023 Course Information Event is scheduled for 27 July.

Helpful career strategies we’ve been talking about lately

• Traffic Light Strategy, is a preference/ranking system which is great for decision-making relating to a preferred school program and elective choices, but could easily be adapted to post-school options and further study interest areas.
• Informational Interview, is an informal meeting (via phone, virtually or in person) between a person seeking further information about a particular job, career or industry and a person already established in that field of work.
