Library news

Students and staff can search for books from the comfort of their own homes or classroom. If a student is enjoying an author or particular series, why don't you see what else is similar, or available?

CBCA Book Week

Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators.

This year’s Book Week concept is Dreaming With Eyes Open. Get your thinking caps on about what this idea might mean to you because the library will be holding a writing & drawing competition based on the theme. More information to come early in Term 3.

Recommended Series

If you love the Harry Potter series, why don’t you try…  Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend

The Nevermoor series is about Morrigan Crow, a girl born on Eventide, the unluckiest day of the year, and cursed to die at midnight on her 11th birthday.

On the eve of her 11th birthday, Morrigan is rescued by a mysterious stranger, Jupiter North, who whisks her away to Nevermoor, a magical land where she is safe and loved for herself. But to stay in Nevermoor, Morrigan needs to complete several difficult magical tasks. Can she do it? (She isn’t so sure!)

I would recommend this series to anyone who loves awesome books about magic and magical worlds, but also to anyone who has ever felt lonely or like they don’t quite fit in.
