Our Friendship Piano

Have you heard the sound of fun and music coming from outside the multi-purpose room? Have you met ‘Cherry’?

Cherry is our wonderful new piano! This piano has been provided thanks to PREPS – The Program for Recycled Educational Pianos in Schools. Cherry is a cherry wood piano that was manufactured by Challen Pianos in London sometime in the 1950s. Cherry loves to be played with and experimented with, but needs to be treated with kindness and respect.

Feel free to have a play, have a tinker, practice the songs you know, or teach a friend a song. Happy playing!

RHS Sports News closed for stocktake

A quick note to let you know RHS will be closing our retail stores on the 27/6 and reopening on Friday 1/7 (first week of school holidays).

In this time we will be undertaking our yearly stock take at all our locations.

This will not affect the website operation, it will however impact our ability to provide a walk-in service to anyone who comes to the stores in this time.

We are unable to trade whilst our warehouses are in stocktake mode, this is to limit stock movement to ensure we can get an accurate count and overall result with our stocktake.

Once completed we will fulfill any online orders and be back to normal service.

2022 SCHOOLS COMPETITION

National Tree Planting Day is at the end of July (specifically the 31st of July) and we are hopefully going to be able to get some trees/ seedlings to plant. In the lead-up to this date, Planet Ark is holding a competition to award schools with money to go towards creating a biodiverse environment.

Students are asked to create a plan of their ideal school grounds that highlight the biodiversity in the environment in whichever way suits them. Eg. Drawing, video, photo etc.

National Tree Day

This year we’re asking students to share green garden designs with us!

Tell us how and why you want to bring nature to your school and show us your plans for your chance to win a garden makeover.

We want to help students like Jimmy. Little Jimmy had a dream to green his school. He went to school at a really hot place with no trees and he was surrounded by concrete. At lunch, the cement would get so hot he couldn't play in the playground. Jimmy's dream was to create shade, attract native birds and grow food for the students. He banded together with his classmates and drew up a plan to make his dream a reality.

Details: Do you have a plan like Jimmy’s to incorporate nature at your school? It could be a pollinator patch, bush tucker garden or wildlife corridor – share your plans with us and we’ll help the winning school make this dream a reality.

How to enter: Submit a drawing, poster, written story, video, or whatever other form your plans take, via our website. One entry per class.
